Dr Takashi Nishimura is an associate professor of Tokyo Metropolitan University at Graduate School of Management in Japan and specialised in Strategic Human Resource Management. During 04/2021-03/2022, he was the visiting academic of International Business and Strategy at Henley Business School, the University of Reading.
His broad research interests focus on how human resource management practices have impacts on working behaviours, social capital and organisational capability, which may ultimately influence organisational performance. He can also deal with both quantitive and qualitative ways and combining with multiple data. His recent research interests are written below:
1. The effects of flexible work arrangements on work attitudes under the COVID-19.
2. Strategic HRM: new types of HPWS and examining the black box between HR practices and organisational performance.
3. The effect of HRM on social capital formation from the view of micro-foundation.
4. The effect of perceived HRM Strength on individual performance.
His papers were accepted in peer-reviewed journals in Japan, such as the Japan Association of Industrial/Organizational Psychology Journal (in Japanese), and Organizational Science (in Japanese).
He has PhD from Hitotsubashi University (Commerce and Management), and before starting his academic career, he had worked at Hitachi Co., Ltd, in Human Resource Section for four years. Before becoming a faculty of Tokyo Metropolitan University at Graduate School of Management, he was an associate professor of the University of Tokushima at the Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences, and then an associate professor of the School of Management, Tokyo University of Science.
